Indeed, we scheduled our trip and later learned that Australia would host the year's only total solar eclipse. So we routed our adventure toward Ceduna, a small city in South Australia, on the central southern coast of the continent. The eclipse was such a global event, all accommodations save for a tent city had been booked months and even years earlier. All for 28 seconds of totality.
